girls play JBU today.
guys play OCU Saturday, when I predict they'll miss having Ricky Kendrick available to come off the bench if Page is still sore from his collision yesterday.

In my opinion Ricky should forego his senior year at Southwestern and just insert his name in the draft. Since he is such a great player, why not take your game to the next level.

This just came across the wire:

WINFIELD, KS (AP) -- Southwestern College has called a 4 p.m. news conference Friday for a "major" basketball announcement, a team insider speaking on condition of anonymity said Friday.

The source told the AP that junior Ricky Kendrick is expected to announce plans to forego his senior season and enter the NBA draft.

Kendrick refused comment Friday when asked about the announcement, but in a recent interview admitted he has thought about entering the NBA draft.

"Yeah, I think I'm ready," Kendrick told AP reporter Murray Evans recently.

Kendrick, who transferred to Southwestern this season from Oklahoma Christian, said OC coach Dan Hays was a big influence in his decision.

"It was Dan who encouraged me to transfer here so that I could better display my skills," Kendrick said. "He was very honest with me at the end of the last season, and told me that a conspiracy was underway for the SAC to suffer a down year, and that it wouldn't be fair to the other nine teams in the SAC if the Eagles played me every night."

If in fact Kendrick has played his last game at Southwestern, he will leave after leading the team in scoring with a 19 ppg average. Southwestern, ranked #32 in the latest NAIA Div. II basketball poll, was eliminated from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference playoffs with a 76-74 loss to Tabor College this week.

Ricky did what a lot of NCAA I & II players should do - went down a league and became a starter. Too bad their team couldn't make it to nationals.

OC could have used him, but Drew Cross is filling in pretty well when Brady needs a rest. Brady's limiping a little today but he'll be okay for tomorrow's game.

Jarred only needs 26 points to tie and 27 to pass Jay Mauck. With the win last night he is assured of two more games (at least one more in the SAC and one in the NAIA tournament) - so I say here's to a new OC & SAC career point title holder!

Good luck to all in the SAC!

...but as a 2 seed , they choked away a home game ...if they make it to the semis, they probably go...

btw, i'm NOT a huge ricky kendrick cheerleader...i'm just always amazed at how easily he is dismissed..it kind of reminds me of how nata boylans' stock suddenly went down when he left obu...

Nate Boylan was a starter for a team that was in line for a National Championship. He averaged over 10 points a game his whole career at OBU. I dont even want to think about what he would have done if he would have gone to the KCAC. Ricky never started or even saw quality minutes on an Eagle team that wasnt near the teams OBU had. I dont think you understand what i am trying to say. Ricky is a nice player. He is playing on a team with almost no other offensive options. He gets to shoot it any time he wants to. He doesnt have to worry about playing defense.(which he cant do). He is not a difference maker. That is it.

...is NOT from ricky to nate(no comparison there...murray will tell you nate should have been at ou!!!),but from how much people denigrate them after they transfer away...nate was not needed after he left obu...yeah, right...and ricky was only a 4 point a game guy...and drew cross is just as good ...to steal a phrase from my 7th graders...whatever....

Ok, since you played and practiced with Ricky for 2 years straight and played with him in the summers up until this year, how many points do you think he would score for OC?? He is better than Drew Cross, but i tell you what, if you put Drew Cross on Southwestern's team and let him shoot the ball anytime he wanted he would be averaging at least 12-13 points a game. The only reason I have brought Ricky's abilities into question is because you are so intent on saying how good the guy is. You keep bringing up how much better OC would be if they had him and that is not the case.
