OCU down by 3 at the half. They got down by 9 early on but have kept it close since then. Dawud has 17 points at the half.

Props to SOJ for being the only person on the planet to pick OCU.

I think his rankings are quite telling in terms of who has done the best against ranked teams.

Stars got killed on the boards, but Mobile shot pathetically.

Wonder who else will join the Stars in round two?

The live update was reading correctly. On the play-by-play it had UM hitting a three to tie, but the final shows a 3-pt win by the Stars. If that is the case, congrats to OCU! Go SAC!!

It will be interesting to see how those rankings predict. How about this stat.

Record Against SAC Teams currently in the National Tourney
OBU 7-4
OC 4-4
OCU 4-5
JBU 3-6

Unbelieveable! Meier chokes on two free throws with 2 sec. left, and Mobile hits a three at the buzzer to send it to OT. 77-77

Stars may blow this one.

What's the deal?

First they say Mobile hit a three with one second left to tie and now it shows they made the three, but OCU still wins 77-74 with no time?

Can anybody listening to the Internet broadcast tell us what the heck happened.

Is it over or are they going to OT?

Mobile hits a three at the buzzer that would have tied the game at 77...but evidently it got waved off and OCU wins 77-74. Drew finishes with 21.

Congrats to OCU Only first round loss will be Lubock Christian. I got JBU upsetting the snake Ralph Turner. OBU has too much talent for Westminister. OC got the best first round draw of the entire tourney and I predict NO SAC team will play in either Men or Women final game!

I disagree on JBU. They haven't beaten a ranked team all year. The only way they can win is if Cole goes off, and that's tough to do in your first game playing in an Arena. Union has beaten some of the best this year...but I'll be pulling hard for the JBU. I'm no Ralph Turner fan.

Brescia isn't terrible. They played with Mountain State, but OC should handle them. Overall I think OC got a real tough draw. Azusa, Mountain State, Trevecca then most likely Georgetown or a SAC team. After the first round they might not have the more talented squad in any game they play.

The best first round draw in the entire tourney is Voorhees. That team is awful.

It wasn't waved off. Mobile rebounded, heaved it the lenght of the court and it skidded off the top of the backboard and out of bounds. Game over.

And speaking of waved off baskets...guess who's officiating here, Bison fans.

Ah...I'm sure it was his fault that the online play by play was wrong too. It must be him.

(Kansas City, Mo.)—Junior guard Dawud Drew had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead unseeded Oklahoma City University to a 77-74 victory over No. 6 University of Mobile (Ala.) in the opening game of the 2005 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

Oklahoma City, now 20-11 overall, advances to Friday’s second round to face either Concordia University (Calif.) or Carroll College (Mont.). Mobile ends its season with a 30-6 record.

Mobile built a 39-29 lead late in the first half before Oklahoma City scored the next 13 points to grab a 42-39 advantage with 17:26 left in the game. The Rams battled back to tie the score at 65-65 when sophomore guard Herman Burge hit a three-pointer with 3:24 remaining to give the Stars the lead for good, 68-65. After Mobile senior guard Gabe Feagin made a free throw to cut the margin to two points, junior guard Ryan Godwin sank another three-pointer to extend Oklahoma City’s lead to 71-66.

Feagin made one more three-pointer with two seconds to play to bring Mobile within 77-74. Oklahoma City then missed two free throws, but the Rams’ last-second shot was off the mark.

Freshman guard Ricky Coleman came off the bench to add 14 points for Oklahoma City, while senior center Drago Pavlovic had 13 points.

Feagin led Mobile with 18 points, while senior forward Tremaine Perry added 17 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Senior center Gimel Lewis also had a double-double for the Rams with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Mobile held a 59-38 edge in rebounding.
