Ok, well I guess I am a little late here seeing as how Marc's cowboy inspired birthday party was a couple days ago but I just read Marc's post so I definitely have to add my perspective. I was running a little late, so I think I was the last one to arrive at Marc's house. I remember hoping that I wasn't the only one that was dressed as a cowboy, which in hindsight was a foolish concern. Upon arrival I was greeted with a typical smile from Mrs Powell who affirmed my belief that dressing up like a cowboy for her son's birthday was in fact "great". I mosey'd on back to Marc's room only to become part of the most fearless group of tough hombre's these parts have ever seen. I have to say that I am honored that Marc gave me the nod for best cowboy outfit because Albert definitely didn't skimp on the cowboy gear. Hell, nobody did. I get psyched just thinking about it. OK...so we roll up to the lonestar and I guess I was second one to burst through the door right behind Al. I think time stood still as everyone in the entire restaurant stopped what they were doing to witness a whole group of cowboys burst onto the scene. There was some rowdiness and "yee-haw's" filled the air. There was no doubt that we had arrived. After what seemed like an eternity they finally called our party: "Marc, party of 7....correction, Billy the Kid, party of 7, your table is now ready". Sweet. The food wasn't too good, but the antics at our table more than made up for it. Marc ended up with a bunch of cool stuff...a chainsaw, tuff tools razor cutters, budda (for Bruce) and some glowsticks that later became straw launched short range missiles. There were some girls there and like everyone else they were checking out the cowboys. Albert gave them a nod and from there it was on. We figured the gentleman like thing to do was to buy the ladies a round of drinks so we had our waiter promtly serve them up a couple of ice cold waters. I ended up going over to their booth and asking them if they liked cowboys. They put up with my antics long enough to tell me that Marc's hair looked like a wig, and that even though Bill was not dressed like a cowboy he looked like he belonged in the group. I don't know if they were intoxicated or something because Marc's hair looks like hair, and at the time Bill looked like he worked at a movie theatre or something. Anyways, the one girl ended up giving Marc a dollar (?) for his birthday. After we paid our bill we went to watch Daredevil. I think Alex will agree with me when I say the chick in that movie was really hot. The entire night was really cool. If there are two universal truths to be learned from this night it is 1. The cowboy is a tragicly overlooked and forgotten American icon that conjures up images of a time where freedom, strength and hard work were embraced. The ideals of the American cowboy are some of the most important components of what this great nation was founded upon. 2. Marc's birthday party rocked, and I really mean that. The whole night went down in the history books as one of the best (top 5) nights ever in my life. Im glad I had the opportunity to be a part of it all.

p.s. I forgot to mention Bill's card...it was really the nicest piece of double corregated cardboard I have ever laid my two eyes on. "Marc, I hope you never die" Happy Birthday.
