There is nothing more painful than being in a relationship where one person loves the other but the feelings aren't returned. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, some people think "if I lost weight, if I was more interesting" etc, etc but at the end of the day either the feelings are there or they aren't.

I went to a talk held by a buddist master recently and someone asked if according to buddist philosophy if a person should stay in a marriage if they don't know if they love the other person. His reply was that you do more damage to your own and the other person's karma by staying in that relationship and denying them the opportunity to find someone whom they love and loves them back. Tend to agree.

Make the decision based on what you want, not what you think he or others want for you.
