I also wanted to ask about entering the costume category: does this mean that a costume is like something you would wear at halloween (cute bunny rabbit or puppy) or is this something from a dance competions (sequins - beads)?

Thanks.

Use a definite theme that is recognizable, but use your imagination, because everything you think of right off has already been used before. Also, try to use small props.

What is your childs favorite story book character if she likes being her is gonna show in the personality and these types of costumes you can usually find this time of year very easily. Best bet pick a few you like show your daughter the pictures on the package and let her pick one for this year and one for next year so you don't have to wait for Halloween to come around to get good selection again :-)The favs I have seen were little red riding hood and Thumbalina

Did not mean OTR costumes meant getting patterns of the outfits that way you can personilize with fabric selection and accents :-)
