I checked out the website to see what the winners looked like, and looked for state title holder that matched your DD's description. If that is her, she is a cutie!

Thank you for your compliment regarding Cyleigh. I think that she is a cutie too, but of course I am her mom and partial! :o) I would love her to do well in pageants, I think that she has the potential but at 2 yrs. old she has a mind of her own - I have a hard time getting her to smile on que - I just would hate for her to have stage fright (she will not walk without me).

So even if the Sunburst director is telling me that most of the girls wear party dresses or Sunday dresses to the state fair pageant, you would still put her in glitz and makeup?

Start in low glitz if that is what you feel comfortable with. I would definitely recommend glitz even for the local pageant. If you need photo retouching, email me. I do it absolutely FREE!

What are your thoughts about buying a dress from websites like www.pageantdress.com or www.thepageantshoppe.com ????

I may have not looked hard enough. I do know, however, that the Pageant Shoppe has a great reputation in children's pageant wear, and is well-known. That would be a good place to start dress-hunting.

I loved some of the dresses listed on the Pageant Shoppe and of course the one that I liked the most I was told has been in the circuit for about 5 years and always a winner in white, but it is full of sequins and beading (pearls)...I heard this is out of style and we could be penalized for the dress...is this true?

However, pearls are outdated now. It may be a good starter dress, but if you have been told you could be penalized for the decor, you very well could be. Try to find out from the salesperson or a professional pageant wear designer if there is a way to change the decorations or something. Sometimes those things can come off easily and be replaced.
