When my daughter was little I enetered her in a couple of local and state pageants, but she never seemed to like to compete. Well, now she is 14, and has been begging me to enter her in a "southern glitz" type national this summer, but the thing is I can't afford it. I mean, I can afford the pageant fees, but there is no way I could pay for a gown, sportswear, etc. I've been looking on consignment websites, but those dresses are still out of my price range or way out of date. I was wondering if you have any tips on attaining sponsers and what-not. I really would love to do this for my daughter. Thanks!!

Ask local businesses and shops, and go in person. Tell them that you are looknig for sponsors to help cover the costs related to the pageant, such as the dress, etc., and not the entry fee. Most companies are more than happy to help in any way. Be sure to let them know what you are using the money for, and send them a follow-up after the pageant. My family has done this numerous times, as there are four of us competeing. Many times, we have had every expense paid for by sponosors.
