Subject: Offensive statement

This statement:
"Why did he allow the person who murdered a woman who worked in his office to get off with 30 year sentence (parole eligible in 15 years)? "
is offensive for so many reasons!
Please be careful what you mention on this website. There are citizens in this county who mourn for their loved ones, the deceased and the survivors of crime.
If you think a 30 year sentence was "getting off" you must think that your convicted child abuser friend got a "slap on the wrist" with her measely 5. She viciously took a life, but I guess no one really cares about the real victim in that case. How truly sad this has become!

I believe anytime you have someone go to someone else's home with a gun and shoot and kill them in their home and then they get off with a 30 years sentence, they got off easy. The victim worked in the office with Mr. Collins.

I also am troubled that Mr. Collins' office allowed a bus driver who forced a 15 year old to have sex with him received only a one year sentence.

While I commanded the D.C. Police homicide squad we had 7 police officers killed. Each of their murderers was either killed or will die in jail.

If you think it is offensive for criminal law violators to held accountable for their actions, get used to it. I plan on holding ALL criminals accountable. At the same time I encourage any of them that believe they are wrongly convicted to fight to prove their innocence. Our system is not perfect.
