Subject: Im Starting To Hate Kia

This is the most rediculas company i have ever delt with in my life. I have had my 2001 Kia Rio for 4 years now. I drove it off the lot brand new, with only the miles that i had put on it to test drive. When the first recall came out on the vehicle i started noticing there was an unusuall amount of vibrating from the engin. i took it in with the recall and expressed my concerns. when i picked up the car i was told that it was "normal" for a kia. i had taken there word for it and went on my merry way. I then recieved another recall and still the vibrating seemed to get worse and worse. i took my vehicle in 3 times to s & c ford, and informed them that i thought there was a problem with the motor mounts, yet i still the same response, it is normal. Now it has been 2 years since the problem started, while all the while im telling there "ASC" Certified mechanics the actuall problem was in fact the mounts. now, the fourth time i have brought the car in, this last saturday, they again told me it was normal. I then had my feince' call who is also asc certified and the whole situation changed. they keept the car untill tuesday, and they finally figured out there was a problem with the MOTOR MOUNTS like i said all along. I was then told by the service advisor that the cause of this was that the mounts had become loose because i bottomed out the vehicle. I knew this was a lie the moment i heard it. First of all, i have never had that big of an impact of the vehicle. no accedents and i might have bottomed out but not hard. I work in a body shop too, mind you and from what my "ASC" Certified tech says that is not possible unless the vehicle had significant damage to the oil pan and crossmembers of the vehicle. Which is true. I then called the manager and ask him the same question, "why was this damaged caused?" where he then procceded to tell me that it was not from an impact that it wasnt even loose, that all there mechanic did was untighten and realign the mounts. this leads me to beleave the mounts were not put in right in the first place. This is a problem that should be covered under there "great warranty" (which is what i was told when i bought the car) and now there saying that it was an ajustment and are charging me 129.00 to fix. not to mention that my feince and i were the ones to diagnose the car, not the mechanic, it took 2 years for them to figure this out, and now im being charged. I would not have a problem paying them if they would have figured this out 2 years ago. Also when this all started i was taking it to s&c ford in san francisco, which i was informed on the day of my last aptment with them once i got there and had already waited 20 min for them to tell me they couldnt service the car because they cancled there contract with kia. now i have to be inconvienced even more and drive to san leandro kia which is almost an hour away from my house. i was told pretty much sorry for your luck by kia consumer affairs and that there charges were legitamate. There is no peace for the weary, let me tell you. When it rains it POURS!!
