hehehe... I have no idea why it happens...

A lot of the arguments on the shack that I've seen in recent and not-so-recent times seem to come from half-private arguments that get dragged out into the spotlight. Half private, since only half the details are given. Any disagreements with the initial verdict are countered with "If you knew the whole story, you'd agree with me..."

Which you can't argue rationally with, since it can still be used regardless of how sound your own reasoning is.

BUT - what amazes me most is how our friendly neighbourhood Duck seems to be one of the voices of calm at pretty much all the messageboards on the circuit! :) hehehe How do you get the time to keep updated so frequently? You must have better surveilence than Santa Claus. :)


Anyways....

Enough about the Shack stuff. :) hehe.

As promised, a little update.

Sai is settling in now... Been about two months and change here. Will have to start battling the immigration dept soon, but hopefully all will go well. Can't see any reason at the moment why it wouldn't, but there are always surprises. Especially with government departments. :/ (I think it really is the sign of an uncivilised society when any government gets to say how and when two folks in love can and can't be together. Grrr.)

For those who don't know, we're in Townsville, Queensland, in Australia. heheh... Sai landed in Cairns, which is about 5 hours drive north, and considered quite the international tourism spot to be at. When she first got there I remember her saying, "Where are all the buildings?" as we were driving through the heart of Cairns. :)

Here we tend to have lots of room. :) So the cities can afford to make rules against buildings that are too tall. So we get shorter, widespread towns.

Townsville is the same. So it made it difficult to go places for a little while, as I don't drive a car. Buses also don't venture to the suburbs that often. :) So for my birthday, Sai bought us both bicycles. We now have mobility, and are exploring nice places together. :)

So far she's met with all the popular animals... Koalas (the lazy little things), Kangaroos, friendly lizards... :) But she - luckily - hasn't come across any of the snakes, spiders, lethal jellyfish, poisonous toads, or dropbears (carnivourous cousins of the koalas :) hehe... had her convinced for ages that these bears actually existed! Buhahaha They just fit so easily with all the real deadly animals we have running around here).

It's just great finally being in the one place...

At the moment, until we have a chat with the immigration people, Sai can't work here. So, she's on an extended holiday for now. :) Working (sometimes hehehehe) on her portfolio of work for when she can work, and for when we move to one of the larger cities, like Sydney or Melbourne. That's where we'd like to head towards. Mostly, we're just relaxing and having fun at the moment.

(Oh - Sai adds: "And cleaning the house" :) heheh WHich she's doing by herself at the moment, since I'm busy writing this, and simply because that's women's work... >ouch!< Sai!! Sorry hun... didn't mean it. ;) hehe ::wink:: )

Well... I guess that's it for now. I gotta go grab some grub. Talk again to y'all soon.
