Not to put too fine a point on it, the Democrats essentially passed Bush 1's proposed health care reform. With (despite the lies) about 200 Republican amendments. It's a Republican bill, in every essential except votes.

That's going to get increasing press as the passage sinks in. Moreover, there's a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference in voting against something and clawing it back.
