Despite what is said in "Lair of the White Worm" about Derby Central and Derby Hospital, or Darby, as it is pronounced, in the film, I have always thought that if the film took place in the Peak District, it took place farther north toward Sheffield, because . . .

Knowing
That Kevin was traveling from east to west, when he was picked up by Lady Sylvia in her car and . . .

Presuming
That he always stayed in an youth hostel, when he was in the area . . .

The route of his hike would look something like this.

Thursday: Sheffield
Friday: after school takes the bus or train the 10 miles
west to Hattersage.
Saturday: in the morning hikes 18 miles north to Langsett.
Sunday: aftr church, hikes the 10 miles west to Crowden-in-
Longdendale.
Monday: early in the morning, takes the bus 22 miles back
to Sheffield.

And he would be home again. Of course, he never got there, being intercepted by Lady Sylvia, about two miles from Crowden-in-
Longdendale and presumed safety.
