made our Amanda's Character an Ideal Serial Killer in "LOTWW" Well, there are friends in high places. We know that her character was the mistress of the "Rebel Roman Emperor."
And one can presume that she then took up with his successor and murderer. And one may have suspicions she might be a serial killer, but, one is going to keep them to one's self, unless one has absolute proof, especially if she has a relationship with your boss.
The chaotic times in that area. The War of the Roses. The English Civil War. World War II, etc. Not only times of a reduced police presence in the area, but, times when person can more easily disappear, then in less chaotic times.
And luck. Luck plays a part. Good luck for her. Bad luck for her victims. Or, she might have been caught earlier. It was only luck that Mary (Davis) and Angus (Capaldi) were in the woods to spot her car, which set the whole story rolling to the discovery of her crimes and her death.
