"Are you changed yet Jewel?" Arianna called to Jewel through Jewel's bedroom door."I can't believe you wear these breeches!t here so tight compared to good ol' riding jeans!" Jewel yelled.Arianna called back to her "you'll get used to them, just hurry up before I turn into a old lady waiting for you here!" Arianna retorted playfully.Jewel finished changing & opened the door."Don't worry Arianna,I'm done now, so you don't have to wait to turn into a old lady," Jewel said to her new sister with a smile.Arianna mock frowned & the 2 girls giggled.Arianna & Jewel walked down to the barn with there sister, Jasmine.Jewel had been just adopted by Jasmine & Arianna's family, & Ari & Jas planned on teaching her to ride english."How about you ride Whirlwind today?" Jewel joked with her saying "what, no 3 y/o $100,000 Dutch Warmblood for your amazingly expert english riding sister, Jewel?" Jasmine rolled her eyes.Jewel giggled & as the 3 teenagers walked down to the barn.They let Jewel groom Whirlwind & then Jas & Arianna showed Jewel how to tack up a horse english.Once that was done, Jewel led Sterling Beauty to the indoor riding arena, following her new sisters.Jewel mounted Beauty, & Arianna handed her a velvet covered riding helmet."Whoops! I forgot the helmet.I'm not used to wearing one since I always just ride western," Jewel said."Thats ok," Ari replied."Now squeeze Beauty into a walk," Jasmine instructed."K teach," Jewel said, "you got it." Jewel got Beauty walking & Jasmine continued "I know that saddle feels pretty weird compared to your western saddle." Jewel yelled "it feels like I'm sitting on a small pancake!" Jasmine sighed & said "Now keep your heels pushed down in the stirrups & really sit up with your shoulders up & straight.This isn't western pleasure ya know!" Jewel nodded & did as Jasmine instructed.Arianna told Jewel "now wrap your pinkie around the reins so your hands are in the right position.Keep your hands about 4 inches apart & keep your thumbs gripping the reins also, like I told you.Jewel nodded & positioned her hands right on the reins."Good, thats it," Said Jasmine.Then Jas & Ari asked Jewel to squeeze Beauty into a trot.The 2 teenagers had already showed Jewel how to post, so they worked on posting for the rest of the lesson.Then Jewel walked out Beauty, untacked her& turned out the dark grey TB mare in her pasture.Jewel walked back to the barn & helped her sisters with some of the barn chores.
