Date Posted: 19:14:17 12/13/02 Fri I walked into the stable in the morning, ready to give out lessons to Dana's kids. Just as I had brought all the horses in, I heard a truck pull into the driveway of Shining Meadow Stables. Dana hopped out, followed by Arianna, Jennie, Jewel, Darci and Jonathon. Hooked onto their veicle, was a large trailer, loaded with the horses they were riding. The riders trudged into the stables with me, as I led them to the grooming stalls. Jennie, Jewel, Darci and Jonathon sat down beside me on the chairs behind a caveletis. Arianna was in the grooming stall, tacking and brushing Rosie. Then, Ari walked into the arena and mounted Rosie with ease. They walked around the arena, almost flawless after awhile, I told Arianna to trot and she and her horse went into a posting trot. She was pretty flawless, but she did get off diagnol once. She also needed to push her heels down a little more. When Arianna looked hot and Rosie was breathing more, I let them go down to a walk and walk around the arena for while more. The horse and rider trotted again. with the same content and needing to to work on the same things. After they walked around the arena, they went into a smooth canter, bouncing around calmly. Once again, Arianna needed heels down, other than that, she looked almost perfect. Then, Ari walked Rosie around the arena for a little more. They cantered again, only this time, Arianna had her heels down, but neaded to keep her hands a bit steady. Then, they walked a long time before Arianna dismounted. She brought Rosei to a grooming stall, and went to untack. Next up, was Jewel and Jennie. They mounted their horses, and walked around the arena for awhile. After that, they did some of a posting trot, loosing their diagnol once, but also needing to keep their hands steady. Jewel went into a sitting trot, needing to stay seated lol. While Jennnie went into a standing trot, needing to push her heels down yet. The riders stopped their horses. Jennie walked Black Velvet around once by herself, and then went Jewel, then they went together again. Finally, they cantered. They both did well, as usual, both needed to work on steady hands and legs. Other than that, the two looked perfect. They cantered again, this time their legs and hands were much better. Then, we did some jumping. We didn't do a lot of it, since we were still building the new jumps. The only ones we had were 2' and 3' but at least it was better than nothing. They jumped them easily and then walked, and dismounted. Jewel and Jennie took the horse and pony to the crossties and untacked them there. Meanwhile, Darci and Jonathon were mounting Jazzy and Thunders. The two children walked around the arena, and when they were ready, they began a posting trot. Same as the rest, steady hands and heels down was what they needed to work on. Jon did a standing trot, and Darci did sitting, then they switched. After they had halted, they walked the ponies around for a few more minutes. Slowly, they cantered. They needed to get a little faster, and then all was well. (hands steady also) Then, they walked and prepared for jumping the 2' and 3' coarse. They did it just as well as the past two did. Finally, they dismounted and loaded their horses in the trailer again, I waved as the family drove away. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
