Date Posted: 19:40:24 12/14/02 Sat Tori:  Lady:  *Kelsey and Travis hurry down to the paddocks and bring their horses up. Kelsey leads Tori, her thoroughbred stallion proudly from the paddock, and Travis hurries up with Lady. the smaller dun thoroughbred wasnt his first choice in horses, but she was better than no horse at all. Saddle had promised to find him his own horse, a thoroughbred like Tori, only taller. Kelsey grooms Tori and tacks him up. he dances in the crossties excitedly, then jigs down to the riding ring. Travis follows with Lady. the mare looks around excitedly, but follows Travis without a fuss. Kelsey walks Tori around the riding ring several times, waiting for Saddle. When Saddle arrives in the ring, Kelsey easily mounts the 16 hand stallion. he instantly trots forward and she sits deep in the saddle "Walk" she tells him calmly. he walks several steps, then trots again and Kelsey reminds him to walk again. they go on for 15 minutes before Kelsey trots the stallion. Travis keeps Lady in a nice working trot and the mare behaves perfectly. Then he asks her to canter and she picks up the wrong lead several times, then bucks hard once and canters on the correct lead. Travis laughs and canters her around the ring. As Lady canters, Tori trots along, doing half passes and bucking irritatedly, trying to run. Kelsey sits calmly on his back, keeping a light hold on him and once Travis finishes riding Lady she pushes Tori off of her inside leg and squeezes her outside rein, giving the stallion a firm half halt. then she slides her outside leg back and Tori springs into a canter. he bucks several times and tries to yank the reins through her fingers as she canters him. after a few circles, she trots, changes direction and canters again, then cools him out, grooms and untacks him, blankets him and turns him out. "Well, what do you think of him?" Saddle asks. "He's great!" Kelsey exclaims happily, "Perfect for me". Saddle smiles, "Good, i'm glad we found you the right horse.
