Date Posted: 17:43:13 12/29/02 Sun Alli swung into Nori’s saddle and gathered the reins in her gloved fingers. “Good girl.” The teen said, patting the black Trakehner mare. “Alright, you know a good bit about her, now that you’ve had her a week. So, show me a good warm up to prove you deserve a young horse, like her.” Susan said, tapping her thigh with a dressage whip. She was wearing a purple sweater and fawn breeches, along with tall boots. She looked very professional. Alli grinned and asked Nori to walk. The mare moved out with a long, gliding gait. Alli took her through some basic figures both directions and then squeezed both legs firmly. The mare skimmed forward in a big, comfortable trot. Alli bent her both directions before pulling her up in front of her mom. “Well?” The teen asked, hoping for a nice reply. “Very good, I need to see some of her lateral work, but she seems very nice. A little stiff to the left, but you handled that nicely and made her bend.” Susan praised, throwing in a bit of advice. Alli worked on some turns on the forehand and then did some leg yields with Nori. The mare moved beautifully through these movements. Alli glanced over at Susan, who nodded. She gave the cue and Nori sprang into a balanced canter. Alli grinned and sat lightly in the saddle, moving with the mare’s smooth gait. They did some circles and then Susan gave them some instructions. “Alli, take her on a short trail and see how she does, then give her a warm bath and turn her out.” Susan said, patting the sleek Trakehner.
