Date Posted: 15:45:23 12/30/02 Mon   Suzie tightened the Girth and slapped down the Saddle flap. She grabbed the bridle and walked to Ke Ke’s head. The playful mare tossed her head and attempted to turn round in the crossties. She tossed her head as Suzie attempted to bridle her. A gentle thump on the shoulder stopped this foolishness and Ke Ke was soon fully tacked up. Suzie grabbed a whip and her helmet and trotted the pretty TW mare over to the arena and swung into the saddle. The teen sat elegantly in the saddle and Ke Ke walked forward. After a full warm-up Suzie asked and Ke Ke responded with a gliding rack. They went around the Arena twice in the elevated gait. Then Suzie nudged with her outside leg, using the proper aids and Ke Ke exploded into a bonding rocking chair canter! This only took about 30 minutes so Suzie took Ke Ke back to the barn and changed her tack to jumping. Then leading her out again she remounted and urged the peppy mare to a trot. In this Arena a 3’ jumping course, nothing fancy just about 9 jumps in a simple pattern with 2 flying lead changes! Suzie sat back in the saddle and asked for canter. She guided Ke Ke around a canter circle and then straight at the first jump. Ke Ke bounded over the cavelletti and landed with precision. They soared over the bounce, upright, barrels, fence & triple! Ke Ke knocked a pole in the middle of the triple but otherwise never dropped her stance of perfection! Suzie hopped down and hugged her beloved mare around the neck. “you are a truly wonderful horse” Suzie said “& I am luck…..OOOWWWWWWWW” Ke Ke had responded to this loving attention bye stepping on Suzie’s foot. “OK Cutie….Your not foolin’ me..”. Suzie led her back to the barn and bathed her with warm water and the dryed her off. She put on her blanket and gave her 2 sugar cubes, before putting her back in her big box stall!
