Hi Linda:

Your site is great. I loved the photos!

I am a descendant of Elijah Beans Cornell. Mary Beans married John Lefferts Cornell in 1829. They had 2 children, Adrian and Stephen Beans Cornell. John died in 1836 leaving a widow and the two boys. Below are the Orphan Court Records:

Orphan Court Records dated December 5th, 1836
"The Petition of Mary Cornell mother and next friend to Adrian and Stephen Cornell was presented and read representing that the said minors are under the age of fourteen years that they are entitled to some Estate coming from their dec. father and have no person legally authorized to take charge of their persons and Estates. Therefore praying the Courts to appoint some suitable person for that purpose. Whereupon December 5th 1836 Benjamin Hibly was appointed guardian for Adrian Cornell and James S. McNair for Stephen B. Cornell."

Mary Beans was the daughter of Stephen Beans and Nancy Ramsey. I am trying to trace what happened to Mary Beans Cornell. I think (hunch) she remarried sometime between 1850 and 1860 to someone named Sprogel. (I find her in the 1850 census as Mary Cornell living with her father. By 1860 there is a Mary Sprogel in the house.) Do you have any information on this line of the Beans family?

I am trying to find me birth father. He is about 67 years old and was born in MIchigan in about 1937.. He has a brother named Theodore(Ted.)He has lived in Seattle washington, Michigan, and in San Diego and Califorina. He was a truck driver in Washington in 1970. The company was called "INCO". I think it was a cement truck. He did eventually did do cross country driving , and had over 9 children with different women throughout the states. God only knows how many more he may have now cuz that was in 1970. He may have a son named Bret or Chet. He may also have a son named Dennis. He was married to my mom in 1968 in washington, but she had it annulled since he was still married. If I found that out the relationship would have been over right then....but my mom stayed with him and I was born 2 years later in 1970. My brother is 6 years older then me and he remembers my dad and said he was obsessed with his hair and he always smelled good. If anyone knows any way to locate someone (cheap or for free) please let me know. I want to met him before it isnt possible anymore(if not already). Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! E-mail me at "LUVTODD1996@YAHOO.COM" Thanks and have a great day!!! Jennifer Morrison

My grandmother on my mothers side was Mary Lula Bean.
1. Her father was Johnny Mathis Bean b 1861-62 in Big Coon, Jackson Co, Albama, He and his wife Sarah Roseanna Money moved to Royse City, Texas.
2. His father was James Madison Bean Jr. b. 1834 m. Rebecca Ann Arnold.
3. His father James Madison Bean Sr. b. 1802 in Virigina
m. ? in 1828 Gainsboro ,Tenn. d. May 18, 1866 in Jackson Co., Alb.

Most of this work was done by my aunt back in the late 1960's. I also have a photo copy of an artical from the JOHN BEAN OF EXETER FAMILY ASSN., about my gggggrand father James Madison Bean Sr. The article states the magazine was for all Beans of original Scottish Highlander descent. I have not been able to fine this organization, does anyone know if it is still around or where I can get futher information on my grandfather. I don't know who his father was etc.
I also have some information on a Tom Bean of Texas. Not sure if related.

Donald Bane and Macbeth

Macbeth was born circa 1005 and died (killed in battle) on
August 15,1057. Macbeth was actually a competent monarch who
suffered badly at the hands of William Shakespeare. Although he had
a sound claim to the throne of Scotland he had to deal with many who
would take his place, including Crinan and Duncan's sons Malcolm and
Donald Bane.

Donald Bane, also spelled Donaldbane, or Donalbane, Bane also
spelled Ban or Bain was born circa 1033 and died sometime shortly
after 1097. He was king of Scotland from November 1093 to May 1094
and from November 1094 to October 1097.

Upon the death of his brother Malcolm III Cænmore in 1093 there
was a fierce contest for the crown. Donald Bane besieged Edinburgh
Castle, took it, and, with the support of the Celtic Scots and the
custom of tanistry (the Celtic system of electing kings or chiefs;
whereby the successor of a king was elected during his lifetime from
the eldest and worthiest of his kin, often a brother or cousin in
preference to a descendant), he was king nominally for at least six
months. He was expelled by Duncan II, son of Malcolm, assisted by
English and Normans and some Saxons. Duncan’s reign was equally
short, for Donald Bane had his nephew slain and again reigned for
three years.

These years saw the last attempt of the Celts to maintain a king
of their race and a kingdom governed according to their customs.
Edgar the Aetheling, who had newly befriended William Rufus, the
Norman King of England, led an army into Scotland, dispossessed
Donald Bane, and advanced his nephew Edgar, son of Malcolm III, as
sole king of the Scots.

It is fitting that Donald Bane was interred, as was Macbeth, at
the Isle of Iona, with the ancient Celtic Kings of Dalriada, Alba
and Scotland around him. He was the last Scottish King to be buried
there.

Your lineage chart is incorrect as to Richard Hough's parents. For one thing, his father would have been 65 and his mother 62, when Richard was born. The claimed parents, Edward and Ann were actually the parents of another Hough, William, who came to Boston prior to the founding of PA and founded a Dynasty of Houghs in CT. Do ask for free help on your line by writing the editor of the HUFF/HOUGH/HOFF Genealogy Journal at www.maxhuff.com

Among other things, you will learn that the parents of Richard, of PA, are still unknown, but that you do have much information that is correct.

Where are the records kept today for folks who in and before 1720 -
1752
acquired and settled land in what was then Bucks County? That land is
today
physically located in Monroe, Pike and Northampton Counties. But I
suspect the land
and court records might have been in Philadelphia with the Penn
owners. Or is
it part of Bucks archives. Some of these folks were living there even
before
the Walking Purchase events. Many seem to have been Dutch and German
settlers
from New York and/or New Jersey who were perhaps residing in the
Minisink
area as early as 1700 while staying connected to folks and church in
Ulster
County, NY/Kingston and across the river in what is today Sussex &
Warren counties,
New Jersey [also part of the Minisink region]. When did the Penns
and/or
Bucks County really lay claim to and start "governing" that part of
the Bucks
County? In 1740s Moravian records some folks in Dansbury[Stroudsburg]
and
Bethlehem seem to be going to Newtown for court and with petitions.
Where are those
records from the Newtown county seat days kept if existent, in 2004?
Thanks for the info and insight from local perspective.
Gail

Just found your web page. Have been doing genealogy for many years but haven't worked on my father's line for a very long time. I was stuck on my 3rd GGF Stephen Beans who I was able to document in MD but never was ble to make a connection back to his PA roots. With some recent research it looks as though his father was Thomas from Montgomery Co PA who family also lived in Bucks Co. I force myself to document information before I add it to my files. I had found some undocumented info on LDS entries which I copied but need to search further. I just looked again today and searched the library for Beans where I found a book about this family. Do you know anything about the book "The genealogy of the Beans family of Bucks Co, PA"?? I would really be interested in sharing info about this family of mine who moved from Cecil Co MD to Centre Co PA where my father was born.

This is a very long shot but I am hoping someone can help.
I have agreed under duress to research my mother in law family history. I have come up against a brick wall.
She is from the Isle of Lewis Scotland. I have been researching the Morrison side of her family and can only trace back as far as her grandfather. It is believed that all of his siblings emigrated to New Zealand, Patagonia and Canada. Official records in Scotland didn't have to be kept until 1855 and because this was an Island prior to that there is no records. So I can't go back any further on the Island. Are there any Morrisons who originated from the Isle of Lewis out there?? I hope someone can help.
