Hi Linda:

Your site is great. I loved the photos!

I am a descendant of Elijah Beans Cornell. Mary Beans married John Lefferts Cornell in 1829. They had 2 children, Adrian and Stephen Beans Cornell. John died in 1836 leaving a widow and the two boys. Below are the Orphan Court Records:

Orphan Court Records dated December 5th, 1836
"The Petition of Mary Cornell mother and next friend to Adrian and Stephen Cornell was presented and read representing that the said minors are under the age of fourteen years that they are entitled to some Estate coming from their dec. father and have no person legally authorized to take charge of their persons and Estates. Therefore praying the Courts to appoint some suitable person for that purpose. Whereupon December 5th 1836 Benjamin Hibly was appointed guardian for Adrian Cornell and James S. McNair for Stephen B. Cornell."

Mary Beans was the daughter of Stephen Beans and Nancy Ramsey. I am trying to trace what happened to Mary Beans Cornell. I think (hunch) she remarried sometime between 1850 and 1860 to someone named Sprogel. (I find her in the 1850 census as Mary Cornell living with her father. By 1860 there is a Mary Sprogel in the house.) Do you have any information on this line of the Beans family?
Lynn
