The Anglican Church�s unquestioning acceptance of authority made it a refuge for anti-colonialists in the so-called Revolutionary War. After King George�s scarlet troops were thwarted, the rabble burned down most of our church buildings and noosed a vicar or two. Oddly, for all the Episcopal Church�s allegiance to the throne in England, it has still managed to pump out more U.S. Presidents than any other denomination.

That said, we might have to stage a coup against our newly minted grand pooh-bah, the Archbishop of Canterbury, whose Christmas eve sermon was a drooling spool of anti-war sloganeering. In the century-old tradition of White Hall taking its marching orders from the White House, neo-lib Blair demands we blot out the Mohammedan invasion; Archbishop Williams should parrot these noble sentiments. We have pinioned our expectations for this Welsh ex-Methodist on the lowest rung but should his insouciance escalate we shall storm Lambeth palace and parade his wooly head on a spike all around town.

We must skedaddle-the confetti on this board is interfering with our DT�s.
