I also believe that the self is always changing depending on the situation one is confronted with. It is as if the self is a continuum, always changing and adapting to be the best fit for the situation it is in. Does this imply that a person is fake and not always his or her true self? I dont' believe so. I do not perform in the same way, or wear the same mask when in front of my peers, that I do in font of my friends. To me this is not acting as a fake, but merely adapting to different situations by wearing different masks or performing in a different manner while being the same true self, just in different situations.
