Subject: The real self

According to Goffman, the self is made up of many different roles for different situations. If we are all just playing different roles than who or what is the real you? I beleve that the self is forever changing,growing and always being effected by new people and experiances. Therefore, the real self is always changing and is relative to a certain time. So there is not a core self waiting to be discovered. This is true if what Goffman says is absolute.
