I would disagree with Goffman's ideas about roles. This is because i think when you are alone this is the time that you arent worrying about anyone watching you. You can be your true self because you dont have to live up to anyones expectations. To me the only time you have to act a role is when you are being watched by an audience and to think that when you are alone someone is watching is not very logical.
