After a disastrous start to the season, Blades goalie Felix Potvin has been run out of town. Only a couple of months ago Potvin was holding the Hoser Cup above his head having performed sensationally over the playoff run. How times have changed.

This season, Potvin has a save percentage of .850 and the Blades have one of the worst goals against in the league, despite boasting a deep defensive corps.

Blades GM Neil Hayes finally had enough shipping Potvin, future star Rick Dipietro, Andrew Ference and a 2nd round pick to Ottawa for star goalie Jose Theodore.

"Moving Dipietro was a tough one. We know he will be a great goalie. But Jose is also a young goalie and we expect him to be with us a long time" commented Hayes.

"I know fans here liked Felix for what he did with us last season, but his skills took a nosedive this season. He sucks now" lamented Hayes. "I had to move him before the rest of the league took notice".

Potvin adds to a substantial list of goalies who have been traded by Yellowknife over the years. This list includes Potvin, Osgood, Brodeur, Salo, and Thibault. Hayes hopes Theodore will be the exception to what seems to have been a goalie curse in Yellowknife.
