[Winnipeg, MAN] The GWHL completed its annual draft lottery on Thursday night, with a fair amount of movement taking place in the upper half of the draft order.

The top two positions remain in the hands of the same two clubs, but the positions have switched. Landing the first pick overall is the Saskatoon Silos, the first time that club has drafted in that position. The Steeltown Hammars dropped down to the second slot, but still have the chance to select a top player in this draft.

Drafting third is perhaps the biggest winner in the lottery, the Quebec Remparts. The Remparts, who were a playoff club this season, acquired this pick from the London Lasers, with the Lasers moving up three spots in the order in the lottery.

The fourth selection belongs to another club that moved up three notches in the order, the Whitehorse Warriors. The Warriors also hold Charlottetown's first pick, which was the team that originally held the fourth position (now seventh). The Warriors hold four first round picks (4, 7, 10, 15), the most of any club.

The B.C. Huskies selection at #5 remains the same, although Charlottetown holds that pick as the result of a trade. Drafting sixth will be the Victoria Totems, who hold the Toronto Trojans pick. The Totems, who also hold the 14th pick in the draft, lost ground with this pick, as the Trojans originally held the third slot.

As mentioned, Whitehorse picks seventh, while the Edmonton Eagles remain in the eighth slot.

There will be a total of eight compensatory picks in this draft, with three teams- Saskatoon, Toronto and Steeltown- each holding two of those compensation picks. B.C. and Whitehorse hold the other two compensation picks.

All told, Whitehorse holds the most selections in this draft with eight. Steeltown has seven picks, while Toronto and Quebec have six apiece.
