Subject: Blades Blow Another Season

Despite having a roster that many GM's would concede is of playoff calibre, the Yellowknife Blades have yet again failed to make the playoffs for the first time in the teams short history.

GM Hayes has been visibly depressed all season but it all came gushing out at a team conference yesterday.

"I dont know what is wrong with these chumps. They have the talent but they stink. I tried to improve the teams weaknesses (trading for Belfour) but that didnt make a spot of difference."

Yellowknife has one the most expensive rosters in the G; many have likened the team to the NHL's hapless New York Ranger team. "Those comparisons are unfair. The Blades suck but they dont come close to the disaster of a franchise that is the New York Rangers" commented Hayes.

"I assure you, big changes this offseason are in the picture. This is unacceptable."

Rumours have it that coach Jacques Martin may be on the chopping block along with a large number of high profile players.

"If I cant turn this team around, I may have to consider stepping down myself to allow this team to move forward."

Some of the media in Yellowknife has already been calling for the head of Hayes, but he is committed to the franchise for another 2 seasons minimum.

Blades fans will have to wait until this offseason to see what changes will take place; Hayes is not giving any indications as to which direction he is headed towards.

Hayes wishes best of luck to all the teams in the playoffs.
