Montreal - The Marauders happily announced the signing of new head coach John Tortorella this afternoon, indicating that he'd been their first choice to fill the vacancy left by fired Michel Therrien.

"John Tortorella is an exciting young coach, who I feel is a perfect match for an exciting young team," said GM Sean Gallagher.

"He has had plenty of success at the lower levels of professional hockey, and I think he'll continue his winning ways here in his firsat tenure as a GWHL coach. Luckily for him, the pressure will be to improve every year, not to have immediate success. I expect his technical expertise in all facets of the game will benefit our team, especially compared to last season."

The GM also took the opportunity to adress the team's most recent draft, which saw the team select two Russian prospects, Alexander Polushin and Evgeni Artukhin.

"I think both have the abilities to be GWHL regulars at the very least. If one or both can exploit their strengths, they could become serious players in this league," said Gallagher, "I really like their upside."

In addition to the new coach and new prospects, the Marauders have been active on the trade front, with plans for more.

"We have quite a few players who could be moved if the right deal appears, "confirmed Gallagher, "plus, we still have room available in the waiver draft protection zone, so I imagine a couple teams may talk to us about a trade rather than risking exposure and losing a player for nothing. We'll see what develops."
