(HALIFAX)-It was a mismatch of collossal proportions. The Beast of the East against the Least of the East. And it played out exactly as most thought it would. By the time the Montreal Marauders skulked out of the Aquadome tonight they had dropped all five of the games by a combined score of 35 to 12. The big guns during the series were Eric Lindros who had a 5 game scoring streak snapped in the 9-3 victory yesterday; Rob Blake who 13 game point streak has him leading all GWHL blueliners; Shawn Bates who is riding a 12 gamer of his own and Milan Hejduk who has a 7 gamer to call his own.

As well, the last five games saw the return of Joe Thornton, and the waking up of Ron Francis who was in a season long slumber until now. Now on a 6 game points streak, it's hoped that he has put his slow start behind him.

However not all the news was good news for Halifax. Marian Hossa is out following a bad spill into the boards in which he received a concussion during the 9-3 win over Montreal. It's thought that he will be day to day with further exams scheduled for this Friday.

Now the team gets ready to travel to Steeltown tomorrow and then return home to host Yellowknife before getting a day off.

Catch of the Day: While the Halifax defense has gotten it's share of accolades, the left wing core has quietly put up some incredible numbers this year. All three of Marian Hossa, Zigmund Palffy, and Shawn Bates are currently in the top 10 portsiders in the league with 47, 42, and 41 points respectively.
