for the money u arent going to get much, stay with name brand eqpt(miller, lincoln, hobart)parts and service are easy to get, this is important when u need something, input power is another factor, not enough power in leads to not enough weld output power, look on www.millerwelds.com for good info and www.northerntools.com for reasonable welders, stick and mig both good, depends on how much money u got and how much u gonna weld, duty cycle of welder important, most small 120 volt mig 20% duty cycle, that is based on a 10 minute time, 2 minutes weld time and 8 minutes cool off time is 10 minutes, most flux core mig 125 to 135 amp weld output good up to 3/16 inch steel, aluminum less but i dont think highly of this type of welding on aluminum, its possible but u will probably get frustrated with wire feeding problems, stick and mig strong welds if done properly, mig quicker, dont have to change elctrodes(rods) all the time,do your homework so u dont waste your money or be unhappy
