I have no welding experience, but maybe someone here can help me. I have a 1/4hp motor with a 5/8" diameter shaft. The motor is burned out, and I want to replace it with another 1/4hp motor. Problem is, the shaft is tooled pretty specific and has a threaded end. I was wondering if it was possible to saw this shaft off, and then weld it to another 1/4hp motor. Please, no laughing. If anyone wants to see a picture of the shaft, e-mail me.

Thanks

Greg
