We currently weld our joints (butt and fillet) on the face or visible side which requires grinding and then polishing to achieve the original mill finish (#4 to #8). Are there methods that would allow us to weld on the backside (non-visible side) without burn-through such that all we need to do is a quick acid wash and polish to achieve the original mill finish?
