Sean I really agree with your assessment that doing the greatest good for the greatest amount of people however I think the carrying out of that is where the need for higher levels of cognitive development comes in. In my opinion morality is more than simply believing that something should be done, it's having the means and knowledge to actively work towards taking that action.
