prior to going on the iq websites, I believed that my Iq was in the range of 100-110. As a went throggh each one of the iq test it remined me of the Myers Briggs and the strong inventory test. In addition the test also broght back memories of my undergrade years in psychology. The tests that I mentioned all had some form of what word is the opposite and strongly agree disagee questions. It was great to learn that experience testing tells how well a person will do in life. I enjoyed taking the test. There was nothing on them that I did not like except I took them all on the same day so it was like taking the strong and Myers Briggs again.

I agree with you Brooke. I have worked with women in transition from welfare to work as well as a youth group. It has been my experience that a large number of these individuals have not been taught basic skills needed to better one's self in society. It came to a unfortunate reality that not only did the youth need our assistance in job serach but their parents did as well. Many times I felt as though we were puting a bandage on a uncoverable wond.

within Rehab. counseling, the disabled population faces a huge problem. According to the United States Census, (2008) 70% of the of the disabled population is unemployed. This devestating fact includes individuals with post secondardy degrees. Cognitive behaior tech. will assist the disable individual with coping stratigies. Cognite Behavior tech. will also assist the individual in changing neg. thinking and unwanted behavior. In addition, if a sensitivity training accompanied by behavior tech. were manditory throughout America then society would be more open to acceptance, and inclusion of disabled individuals. One of the main reasons that the unemployment rate is so high is misconceptions and sterotypes. "If you change a mans thinking you can change the man." I believe that if cognitive behavior tech. were manditory for all these misconceptions and sterotypes would vanish and America would be more inclined to inclusion. The faulty thought would be gone. In addition the consumer as well as society will do more reality testing.

My name is Tiffany Mosby. I am from the Bartlett area and I have one younger sister. I completed two years at Tennessee State University before transferring to the University of Memphis to attain my Bachelors in Psychology. Now I am in the Graduate Program at the university receiving my Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. This spring was my first semester of my program and it was a success. After the completion of this portion of school I plan to receive my Doctoral degree in Psychology or Counseling Psychology. Since there are so many different aspects of counseling, I am indecisive about which area I plan to pursue a career in. But I am quite sure after the completion of all of my schooling and the appropriate training I will have determined which avenue is best for me.

Hi Everyone!! My name is Jennifer Williams and I am a first year graduate student at the U of M. I am working towards my teaching license as well as my MAT. I plan to gain my endorsement in both ESL and Early Childhood Education. I am originally from Ohio and I did my undergrad at the University of California, Irvine. I earned a BA in Film Studies...shortly before deciding that California and commercial film were not for me. Great timing, I know. Instead of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on yet another degree right away, I decided that gaining practical experience in my new field of interest would be the way to go. My love for children, adventure and travel led me to take a job teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea, and later, Hong Kong. It was the best experience of my life. I made amazing friends, met my husband and found my passion in teaching ESL to young learners. I was fortunate to be able to travel extensively around Asia, Africa and Europe during my stint teaching overseas. After five wonderful years in Asia, my husband and I have returned to the States and moved to his hometown of Memphis. We have two beautiful dogs and a great apartment downtown. I am very excited to be in grad school and can't wait to start the next chapter of my life!

When I finish this, I will finish the redo on the syllabus and send it out to you.
1. To help us with this disussion board, I will post the question that a response is needed. When you respond, first click onto "post a reply to this discussion" and type in your response. That will keep everyone's response together. It will also make it easy to respond to one another--your response won't be out somewhere in cyberland!
2. Please make sure that when you put your email account on this discussion board that you use your university account. It will keep me straight with grading etc. I will be responding to you as soon as I read your posting and will supply you the points you earned out of how many possible. When you reread the syllabus, you will see what each assissngment will be worth. I'm also not going to count the first writing assignment since it's a messed up learning week. I will however, change it to something that will help you and be more manageable.
3. You will note there is no spellcheck or grammar check on this discussion board. Do your best--unless you totally make errors I won't take much off. I am more interested in your organization and observations and your spelling researchers names correctly.
4. There will be separate papers with instructions on it to help you on the other assignments that I will be working on after the syllabus.
5. There will be a QUESTIONS page that I'd like for you to use on this discussion board. Many of you have questions and are sending them to me individually and I'm responding. I think the whole class will be interested in the response. So, please ask questions and everyone will benefit. Thanks.
6. Can you think of something else you'd like to see on the Discussion board??? Please let me know. This semester is just getting more exciting.....

Hello! My name is Kelly Hanks and I am currently working on my master's in community agency counseling. Life Span is my last core class to take and then practicum, comps, and internship will round out my degree! I have really enjoyed the program thus far and am looking forward to this class. I was a Psychology/Human Development double major in undergrad at Virginia Tech and I am excited to revisit the developmental part of counseling. I currently work full time at Youth Villages as a Program Manager. I have been there for about 2 and half years and I love it. The job can be very stressful, especially while being in school, but I would not have it any other way. Aside from work and school I also found time to get married while living here in Memphis. I got married last August to a wonderful man who is amazing and very understanding of my passion and time constraints. The plan is to obtain my degree here in Memphis and then move back to our home state, Virginia. Once in Virginia I will continue to pursue counseling and we will begin our family! That's me in a nut shell!!
