I agree with your perception of these IQ tests... they should as an assessment tool and not as a dianostic test. Also, as you stated, many people who may not do well on these tests are quite smart in their own way. My husband, like your dad, wouldn't do well on these tests, but I don't believe there is anything in this world that he can't fix or make. That is an intelligence of a different kind. He is also a very wise person.

The accuracy of these tests is also in question. Are they biased regarding race, age, culture, etc.?

I, too, found the culture fair test to be frustrating. According to that test, I am below average. Personally, I don't believe it as I have shown above average intelligence in other aspects (although my sisters would argue this matter).

Finally, these tests are not a determining factor of intellegence.
