For the past two Summers I have worked as director of a summer camp in Mid-town Memphis. During the two months the camp is in session there are many opportunities to practice behavioral modification. One such example of this took place last summer. There was a child in camp that would misbehave every day of the week, multiple times per day. We would attempt to put the child in "time-out" talk with him about his behavior, and call his mother. Non of our attempts resulted in the desired outcome. Finally we decided that every time he misbehaved we would require that he right on the board-what he did wrong. He would write multiple times-and each time he misbehaved the number of sentences he would write would increase, beginning with ten and then increasing by ten at each infraction during the week. The child hated this form of correction and would cry at each instance, but after a few days of these corrective measures the childs behavior improved to the desireable level
