I remember having to do this as a child in elementary school but they were called "write-offs". You are right. Most kids HATE them. They were especially terrible when the whole class had to stay in at recess and do them when the class got in trouble as a whole (I guess I had mean teachers in elementary school!) This method is quite successful in my opinion as I don't remember having to do them that often. But boy, when I did.....ugh!
