 Yeah, I totally agree. But ya know, CLAMP may love Subaru, but they obviously don't love him enough to just let him go. It's sad, really.

The other thing is, in the manga, he's living to keep the one piece of Seishirou that's still around, his left eye, alive. ~.~;;;
