Well... we have yet to see the end of the manga, and CLAMP might pull a twist and bring him back and involve him in the war. *shrug*

But what you say makes sense; basically Kamui gives Fuuma his power, but we're talking about Fuuma-Fuuma, not DoE Kamui. But then, considering the idea that DoE Kamui is most likely going to be Judgement, that would be a little... odd. Since once he has power, or at least it awakens, Fuuma becomes a Kamui. Actually, maybe that makes sense. XD I don't know...
