But which Hinoto is it? ^_- LOL
Seriously, you're right - Hinoto has a certain dichotomy in her personality in that she really does want to be free (like her sister wanted for her) and yet she's also afraid to not be a yumemi. Eventually she gives in to the fear (fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the Dark Side XD XD XD).
This is quite apart from what Kakyou said about everybody having a darker self.

Umm...good point, I'm just a little bit loathe to ascribe logic to a character who has clearly gone insane (to whatever degree).
As for Kamui, all I could see was good!Hinoto crying and begging him to kill her before it's too late, then bad!Hinoto smirking & saying "this future will not happen". She simply doesn't want Kamui to run her through with the Shinken. *shrugs* Or am I missing something deeper going on?
The thing that does make sense to me is this:
- Hinoto tries to save Saiki
- Saiki dies
- Kakyou "but you knew this would happen"
- Hinoto "what's the point of being a yumemi if I can't change anything"
- Dark Hinoto "let me take over"
And then most of the original (weepy) Hinoto gets shoved down into the subconscious/unconscious.
