You bring up an interesting problem. Over here in Simburbia, we've noticed that a large amount of our student sims seems to stumble headfirst into a seriously committed relationship before getting all the facts (actually, in the first graduating class of Simburbia U, we had 3 engagements). Of course you must remember not to act to rashly towards your mother, after all she is concerned for the well-being of her child as all parents should be. But maybe you should try to remind her that for all intents and purposes, you are still an adult sim capable of making your own decisions. So long as you think them through, she'll have no reason to worry.
