Hi not sure I can help you with your haunting as I do not have much experience of such, spirits are sometimes trapped by their past life experience and they remain earth bound, from what I know exorcisms sometimes work and sometimes don’t, the priest blesses the house with holy water and asks the spirit to leave. From what you say it sounds like a child with the balls materializing in the basement, this child may or may not have played in the basement or been trapped in their or locked up in the basement in the past. I would remove the marbles and see what happens, you might think of trying to find a medium who can talk with this spirit and maybe help them to pass over into the spirit realms, the medium can explain to them that they are casing you to feel apprehension about them being in your basement.
