I am no expert in Chinese heritage and customs. That said, based on my understanding of the Cantonese custom, you are indeed right to say that your mother reached a ripe old age of 100 -- "In Chinese, she was 100 years old 97 plus 3 for ‘heaven’, ‘earth’ and ‘life’ on earth". Further, she had "four generations under the same roof" again something the Chinese is very proud of, and I am sure your family is very proud of as well.
I remember fondly the occasions when I visited your house, back during our school days. I had the honour of speaking to your mother and indeed to your father as well. It is touching to note that the "who is who" of our classmates who were able to turn up personally to comfort you and your family, did so. According to the Chinese custom, as you know that is a mark of respect to her, and your family, and your popularity with our classmates as someone who have done a lot for our class as well.
