John Howard has been there too long. The cost of prolonged imbubency is the failure to judge that the Aussies want changes, whatever that may be. The Coalition might not have lost, had he resigned from the leadership earlier. But this is with the advantage of hindsight.

True, Australia is a great democracy, and there's no way we can match that. I am no supporter of either Labour or Coalition; it's an Aussie business. Frankly we will prefer Labour to win. Hopefully the Aussie Foregin policy will not follow USA all the way; it will show more interest and particiption in Asia. Part of curent Aussie boom is the Chinese demand on Aussie minerals etc.At least your current leader speaks good Chinese, and hopefully, thou not necessarily, he will understand the Chinese better. Of course, national interest always the predominates ....
