Phyllis P. Bowman

86, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2012. Phyllis was born December 5, 1925 in Indianapolis to Obart and Myrtle Purdy. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and attended Purdue University where she met her husband, Dan. She worked in the Indianapolis School System as a Reading Tutor. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together throughout the United States and Europe. Phyllis attended Cumberland United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Women. Phyllis and Dan were married February 11, 1950 in Indianapolis. She is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Bowman; her daughter, Christine Bowman (Todd Dobbels); her sister, Patricia Steele and a nephew, James (Sandy) Steele and their children, Robert and Jessica. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday in Flanner and Buchanan - Washing ton Park East , 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral center. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Friends may sign Phyllis' online guestbook
