I'm so sorry that you are going through this. The ripple effect is phenominal isn't it!

This hasn't applied to my situation, but from all the surfing on the web, here is some of the information I found. Yes, the addict feels the pain that he has created when he is coming down...this is the reason that many of them get high again...to run from all the pain they have and are creating. When they are high, they don't care. Also, they are not in control; the drug is!

Many of them say that they want to stop...whether they are high or whether they have come down. Is this their manipulation talking, or is it the actual truth? Out of those that truly want to stop, only 1 in 30 actually reach that goal. Sad isn't it.

Wait for them? NO! Go on with your life without them. For your sake. This is the best thing that you can do for both yourself and them. He could spin in and out of control like this (the rollercoaster effect) for years.

More than 50% of the people in prison throughout the United States are in there because of meth. Their charge may not be drug related, but done because they are on drugs and needed money, food, or a place to crash or whatever. This is a nation-wide (and then some) disease that is so overwelming that our government doesn't have a clue how bad it is!

The meth user is killing their own brain cells every time they use! After time, their brain is so destroyed, that many of them cannot get through a day without anti-psychotic drugs. My husband is at this point. He takes Depakode and Zyprexa. He tells me how intelligent and quick-witted he used to be. All I know is his mind is very slow, and he is not very intelligent at all (unless he is attempting to manipulate...they are very good at that). I would tend to say that at times, he is down-right stupid.

Do not wait for your addict! It only causes you severe pain, emotionally and even possibly physically. You must move on with your life without them. They might catch up, and they might not. Sad....but true.
