Thank you for posting your story and the court proceedings. It helps those of us that have that coming up and are clueless on what to expect. My story is so different b/c I was never married to my daughters father and the fact that he just came into his daughters life a couple of years ago and for 1 1/2 he has been on meth. I do have written proof that he was using (I have kept this very secret from him and his family so I won't go into what that proof is). He always has paid the $100 child support b/c I was too nice and agreed to not take him to court and take his personal checks each month totalling $420 a month child support and 1/2 for her activities, clothes, etc. Now that I told him he can't see her until he is clean and will take tests, he hasn't paid me a dime and currently owes me $1400. But this is the $ he owes me via our mutual agreement. I can't do Sh*t through the county since he is paying the $100 ordered and he hasn't had a job since Jan. 06 (though he ownes 2 homes, drives a 2007 BMW, has a maid, 5 plasma tv's, I could go on and on...point being -he has MONEY -he's just not paying me and knows since it was our own mutual agreement I can't do anything about it. You said that they are ordering your ex to get a job? Can you explain that? I asked if they would do that here in my county and was told no -but I honestly think the person I got on the phone that day didn't really know what she was talking about and was confused about what I just explained above. What have you learned about this? Also -I am planning on when he shows back up to demand drug tests(I'm pretty sure he is back from rehab-but he has not contacted me which surprises me. I'm almost inclined to think he has been advised to not contact us until he is healthier). From what your saying it is just a one time test? That is crazy! Where are the rights and protection of these children. Meth users are liars and manipulators. If your ex is anything like mine -I know the signs on when he uses again, but it is usually very into it and the mood swings kick in -in between that time, how many times are they driving our children while high? I am shocked at what you were told! Please keep us informed.
P.S. While cleaning my daughters room this past weekend I noticed the picture she had of her and her dad in a frame that said "Daddy and Me" was turned upside down by her. I sat in her room and cried and cried for her little broken heart. I wrote her a letter and later she told me she wasn't going to turn it back up and said "I don't have a dad...period" :( My heart has broken at what he has done to her!!
