I read so many of your postings almost daily because I too live in a world of disbeleif...my brother is a terrible addict and lives in another state so I had not realized how fast he was spiraling out of control. His two big drugs of choice are coke each and every day...he shoots it several times a day, approx. $200.00 worth everyday and also likes to shoot meth with it whenever possible. I know absolutely nothing about these drugs. Where do I begin to learn and understand? He started using heavy in September of last year and I slowly started seeing him slip away from me. His calls have become very few and far between and he is always sooo sad and depressed and he really scares me. I spoke with him 2 weeks ago when I really thought he was suicidal. He has not answered his cell phone since and today I got a call from an officer of the court in his county verifying his adress and other personal info so that he could get his bail reduced when he goes to court in the morning. Yes, he was arrested and is facing 9 felony counts for burglary and theft. I am so heartbroken and scared for him. His bail is way too high for him to be able to get out even with a bondsmen but I think he needs to stay there and clean up and get his head on a little bit straighter.I am not so niave that I think he will get clean jsut because he is sitting in jail but I would like to think that he may be able to see things a little bit clearer. I will not post his ail or co-sign for his bail bondsman! Anybody out there know anything about the system and an addict? I have spent hours on the phone today trying to find out if he is detoxing with help there, or is he on his own? His arms are so bad from shooting up that he shoots up in his groin now. He was charged with 5 counts of 2nd degree burglary...what does 2nd degree mean? He has not phoned me to talk and we are so close that I can only imagine the shame and disappointment he is feeling. I am hoping that he will call soon so I can just say , I love you...any words to help me through this would be so appreciated! Where can I possibly start? There is no naranon meetings in my town or near me. There are NA meetings that are open to the public. Does anyone think that might help?
