Brokenwife,
Just the fact that you had to take the hair test tells me that he really was manipulating you. Telling you that he is not using yet all actions point to that he was using daily is typical. It's been about 4 years since my ex left his 18 month drug treatment facility and I have seen the changes that he has gone through. I have also learned so much from him in his humility and serenity. I can go to him for a lot of help with this board and with the families I work with. He has taught me more than I expected to ever learn. I went through testing him over and over again and all that stuff. He will tell me to test him instantly instead of spinning out. He says, "don't accuse, test me - you need to find out right away" and always tells me that if an addict defends or refuses to be tested, you know the answer. Its in the things that your husband did and not said. Talking the talk (intentions) and walking the walk (actions) are completely different.
I went though all what you're going through and could not hold on any longer - I divorced him and had to work on caring for myself. I forgot what that was all about!
When the divorce happened, he figured out that I was not there for him - IN ANY WAY and really hit his bottom and really searched for God. He was desperate.
My codependency had to be addressed and I needed recovery.
Praise God things have changed and we are healed but not without giving it up to Jesus. God Be with you,
Hulalea
