Wendi, I completely understand. I haven't posted in quite a while because my life has been such a roller coaster. I walk in your shoes. I just did a hair follicle test on my husband unbeknownst to him. I cut hair. I have been battling his meth use for the last 3 years. He always swears he's clean, but I knew in my heart something just wasn't right. It's hard because he and my 10 year old son are extremely close. My 13 year old daughter basically can't stand him. The test was quick and convenient. I mailed it in. They don't report anything over 500, to give room for over the counter medications and environmental effects on the hair. Unfortuneately, his numbers came back at 22,000 for Meth, and 1,200 for amphetamines. I am still trying to figure out how I'm going to appoach him. An intervention with his family, confront him alone, or just file for divorce. I'm tired of being played for a fool. I've been playing the game, pretending everything is hunky-dory. It gets harder everyday. I worry so much about my son. I have great support around me, so I'm greatful. If divorce is the case (anyone have adivice on that?), I know he won't be able to share custody until he is clean. I never wanted this for my kids. The test I did was anonnymous, and won't stand up in court, however, I know the court would order their own test. All I've read, and all I've been told says that the hair follicle is fool-proof. I called the lab to ask what the numbers meant, and they told me that my husband was using on a constant daily basis. What a fool I've been for the last year! My prayers are with you.
